Never Say Never: The First 20 Years (Disc 8: Nevermind the Extras) Alternative Rock 2001.06.13 CD Studio and Live <p>This disc includes some obscure oddities, previously unreleased material, and solo work from the band’s members.</p> <p>“Follow Me” is a brand new song recorded specifically for the project. “Noon ’Til Whenever’ was originally intended for <i>Flap Your Wings</i>.</p> <p>“It’s So Wonderful“ is the band’s first recorded demo. The song “I Can’t Take It” and the live recording of “Here in the Night” were originally released as a single in 1984.</p> <p>Tracks 6–9 are songs from a recording session preceding the <i>Shades of Gray</i> EP. “Tears Don’t Fall” and “All Night Long” were rerecorded for that EP, but “We Should Be Dancing” and the new version of “Another World” were never used. The version of “All Night Long” present here was first included on the <i>Love Songs and Prayers</i> compilation.</p> <p>The version of “Wilderness” featured here is the unplugged version originally recorded for the <i>Brow Beat: Unplugged Alternative</i> compilation.</p> <p>“Tip of My Tongue” is a Mark Heard cover, previously featured on two different tribute albums to that artist.</p> <p>The tracks by Dan Michaels are from his 1993 solo EP, <i>Reveal</i>. “Winnipesaukee” is taken from Steve’s solo album <i>Skinny</i>, and “Everybody Suffers” was recorded specially for a Northern Records compilation. “Mommy’s in the Circus” is a children’s song recorded by Steve. “All the World to Me” was soon featured on Derri’s solo EP, <i>A Few Unfinished Songs</i>.</p> <p>Lastly, “What Is the Cherry Bomb?” is a remix of <i>Flap Your Wings</i>’s “Cherry Bomb”, produced by Andy Conant.
