      <title>Smorgasbord of Rarities</title>

<body>When I hit play on a Johnny Goudie CD, I expect the unexpected. In the case of 18 Unreleased Demos, I was not disappointed! Both &quot;Star Ball Contribution&quot; and &quot;I Am Falling&quot; are my favourite tracks, with infectious melodies, cool effects, and slick vocals! &quot;Monkey&quot;, &quot;Notes from the Edge&quot; (with Jacob Shulze on lead vocals in the verses), and &quot;Where Do You Get Your Shirts Cleaned?&quot; need to be mentioned also - all completely different from the other, and yet equally outstanding! &quot;Already Here&quot; and &quot;Down&quot; are demos of previously released songs, with noticeably different mixes in spots to that of the album releases. Johnny Goudie's voice is excellent on lead and harmonies throughout, and there are plenty of gifted guitar antics. Listen also for some beautiful work on the keys, and a Theremin solo in Dreamy Marie! My only irk is on &quot;Hint of the Truth&quot;, where the vocals are drowned out throughout most of the song. Also &quot;Did I Hurt You?&quot;, is just ... far out... I'm not sure how to digest it. The rest of the album has excellent tracks in true Johnny Gee style, and even a great cover of the INXS hit song &quot;Don't Change&quot;. </body>
