Reba Nell McEntire was born March 28, 1955, in Oklahoma.

1974: The taste of solo success hit Reba

when she sang the National Anthem at a rodeo in Oklahoma. The performance lead to a trip to Nashville and a record contract with Mercury Records.
In the mid-70s, Reba also married and finished getting a teaching degree (with a minor in music).

1977: Reba released her debut LP

Reba McEntire was released.

1978: Reba had her first hit country song

with "Three Sheets In The Wind."

1979: Released

Out Of A Dream.

1980: Reba hit the country Top 10 for the first time

with "(You Lift Me) Up To Heaven" from the LP, Feel The Fire.

1981: Released

Heart To Heart.

1982: Album released

Reba released Unlimited and ended the year with her first #1 country single - "Can't Even Get The Blues."

1983: New Album

Released Behind The Scene.

1984: Label Change

Reba signed with MCA Records
Reba won a Country Music Association Award for Female Vocalist of the Year, and won an Academy of Country Music award for Top Female Vocalist of the Year.
Reba released Just A Little Love and in October, My Kind Of Country.

1985: Awards

Reba won her 2nd Country Music Association Award for Female Vocalist of the Year and won an Academy of Country Music award for Top Female Vocalist of the Year.
Have I Got A Deal For You, was released.

1986: First Platinum LP and Release

February-
Whoever's In New England was released and became her first platinum LP.
Reba won her 3rd consecutive Country Music Association Award for Female Vocalist of the Year and the coveted award for Entertainer of the Year and won an Academy of Country Music award for Top Female Vocalist of the Year and Video of the Year ("Whoever's In New England").

1987: Grammy Award and Release

February-
Reba won a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female ("Whoever's In New England").

April-
Reba McEntire's Greatest Hits was released.
Reba divorced her husband, won her 4th Country Music Association Award for Female Vocalist of the Year, won an Academy of Country Music award for Top Female Vocalist, and won an American Music Award for Favorite Country Female Video Artist.

Reba won an Academy of Country Music award for Top Female Vocalist and Video of the Year (for "Is There Life Out There") and won an American Music Award for Favorite Country Female Artist and Favorite Country Album for Reba Live.

Reba released For My Broken Heart.

Reba could be seen in the TV movie The Gambler Returns: The Luck Of The Draw.

Reba topped the Billboard Country Singles chart with "How Was I To Know."

November -
It was announced by BMS News, Reba McEntire would release a new song with profits going to charity. The song "What If?" was written by Diane Warren, and profits will be donated to the Salvation Army. The song made its debut on Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (NBC).

1998: Reba got her star on the Walk of Fame

January -
Reba nabbed the People's Choice Award for Favorite Female Musical Performer (a tie with Whitney Houston) and an American Music Award for Favorite Favorite Female Country Artist.

June -
Reba released If You See Him with the track "If You See Him, If You See Her" (a collaboration with Brooks & Dunn).
Reba talked with The Boston Globe about the changing faces of country music: "It's very competitive and there are so many new people in here these day that I don't know have of them. I have to go to the awards shows and watch the (Country Music Television) videos to catch up and keep familiar with everyone. It is scary."

Reba canceled a benefit concert in Kansas, the 'Wild Wild West' show, planned to aid farm children due to poor ticket sales.

2001: Premiered in a Broadway musical

January -
Reba was nominated for an American Music Award for Favorite Country Female Artist.
Reba premiered on Broadway in the revival music Annie Get Your Gun (after Bernadette Peters and Cheryl Ladd played the role in this production) - "It's not going to be work, but I'm not going to tell anybody that." Reba also signed a deal to star in a comedy television show for the WB network.

Reba was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Video, Short Form ("What Do You Say").

Reba's new TV show Reba premiered on WB and good ratings helped it be picked up for the entire season.
