      <title>Tantric</title>
      <body> Tantric came together from Days of the New. Former DOTN
guitarist Todd Whitener, bassist Jesse Vest and drummer
Matt Taul started out as Carbon 14 in early 1999. At this
time, Hugo Ferreira joined the band as lead singer.
 Following several months of writing and touring, Carbon 14
changed their name to Tantric and procured a record deal
with Maverick Records.
 Their debut, self-titled, CD was released in February 2001.
The first single, &quot;Breakdown&quot; was an immediate hit, and
it was followed by &quot;Mourning.&quot; Tantric has toured
extensively. They performed on the HBO series &quot;Reverb&quot;, as
well as appearing on &quot;The Tonight Show&quot;, &quot;The Late Show
with David Letterman&quot; and &quot;Last Call with Carson Daly.&quot;
The group also performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
and toured with Creed for six weeks in early 2002.
 The CD was certified gold in December 2001. Tantric
has appeared on the soundtrack for the Sylvester Stallone
movie, &quot;Driven&quot;, as well as on a 2002 Fox/NASCAR
compilation CD.
 Tantric re-teamed with producer Toby Wright for their
second CD, which will be out later this year.

</body>
