      <title>Who Is t.A.T.u.?</title>
      <body>&lt;B&gt;t.A.T.u.&lt;/B&gt; (pronounced &quot;Tatoo&quot;) is a duet from Russia composed of:&lt;UL&gt;&lt;LI&gt;&lt;B&gt;Lena Katina&lt;/B&gt;: born in Moscow on October 4th, 1984. Attended an average Russian high school. Currently majoring in Psychology at Moscow State University.&lt;LI&gt;&lt;B&gt;Julia Volkova&lt;/B&gt;: born in Moscow on February 20th, 1985. Upon finishing the 9th grade entered the &quot;State Musical Variety and Jazz Arts School&quot;, department of variety singing.&lt;/UL&gt;Both Lena and Julia sang in the children's group &quot;Neposedy&quot;. The girls came together again during a casting that took place at the Mosfilm studio. They were selected independently out of 500 contenders.&lt;P&gt;The group's name is spelled &quot;Taty&quot; in the Russian Cyrillic character set (still pronounced &quot;Tatoo&quot;), and means &quot;this -- that&quot; or &quot;this girl -- that girl&quot;, and implies &quot;this girl loves that girl&quot;.&lt;P&gt;Their first album, &quot;200Km/hr In The Wrong Lane&quot;, has been an international success in most of the world.&lt;P&gt;They are the first Russian group to hit #1 on the world music charts with their single &quot;All The Things She Said&quot;.</body>
