Biography: Paul Wright

Paul Wright was raised in Eugene, Oregon. At age 12 he gave his life to Christianity and serving God with his music. He began by getting involved in a youth group and playing music at his high school. Despite dedicating much of his time to basketball while he was a scholarship student at Northwest Christian College, he was still able to start a band which found themselves at the Creation West music festival. They later disbanded, but Wright gained further inspiration from a semester at the Contemporary Music Centre, where he learned about making commercial music and wrote some of the first songs for his Fly Away album.

Following graduation, Wright went on become narrator on the !Hero rock opera project thanks to his friend's involvement. After recording some tracks to the project, he found himself being signed up for a record deal with Gotee Records in a chance meeting with CEO and founder Toby McKeehan.

Paul Wright gains inspiration for his music from gospel rap, the alternative rock of the 1990's and the work of the Christian rock and R&B band dc Talk, which includes Gotee Records CEO Toby McKeehan.
