<summary>An Electronic Music Style Combining Aspects of Drum and Bass, Big Beat and Breakbeats.</summary>
<catdesc>An electronic music Genre formulated in the late 90's by groups such as Adam Freeland, Rennie Pilgrem and Freq Nasty and furthered by Hybrid and BT. Nu-Breaks combines elements of two-step breakbeats found in Breakbeat and Drum and Bass with the heavy Synthesizer and Bass lines found in most Progressive electronic music. Its name is derived from the &quot;Nu&quot; style it brings to those genres it hails from; it has a crisp, &quot;broken&quot; (that is to say, not following a 4/4 bass/snare combination) percussive style, and heavy melody-laden hooks.</catdesc>
