<H4>Doom Metal</h4> A genre of metal that fuses sorrow and anger through depressing, introspective lyrics, and slow, dirge-like melodies. The song structures are often complex and the songs themselves long. <br> <br> Vocals can be of the tormented gothic variety, shrill screams, or the growl and/or grunt delivery of death metal. Classical female vocals and choirs often used as well. <br> <br> Instruments are the usual metal arrangments plus woodwinds (flutes and celtic instruments) and acoustic, stringed instruments (acoustic guitars, harps, etc). <br> <br> Lyrics are thoughtful, emotional, philosophical, and often mystical and/or spiritual.
