1. Outside
This album features the reunion of Bowie and Brian Eno, who hadn't worked together since the "Berlin trilogy" of the late '70s. 1. Outside is a concept album based on a short story Bowie wrote (included in the liner notes) about the investigation of an art murder.
Bowie is no stranger to adopting new or underground musical styles, and on this album you can hear him playing with techno and industrial sounds in addition to his usual musical vocabulary.
