Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band is one of the most influential rock and blues bands that never had a chart-topping single. Listed by music critic David Toop as one of the top 100 rock bands of all time, the band has been on the radar of musicians worldwide, spawning dozens of clones (including a Czech Captain Beefheart cover band). Their most known album, the 2 LP "Trout Mask Replica" from 1969, contains 28 short tracks with a surreal, psychadellic abstract blues/rock intensity.
