Biography: Biography: Rody Coronel
Born in 1971 Maassluis, the Netherlands, Rody Coronel grew up listening to all kinds of music (Jarre, Vangelis, Queen, etc.). At elementary school he noticed that he could play and memorize music much easier then the other kids but at that time he was not really interested in music…yet. That all changed when he was 14 years of age. With his old synthesizer, a Korg Poly Six, he imitated every tune he heard on the radio. One day he heard a classical piece played with synthesizers and a church organ. “Wow, that sounded so big, so huge. It was a piece by Widor, the Toccata from Symphony no. 5. It totally overwhelmed me.” He wanted to hear more and he started to listen to different classical organ pieces. Not long after that he decided to take organ lessons. A year later he got lessons on a church organ and started to study pieces from Widor, Franck, Bach, Reger, etc. After seven years of organ lessons he had to stop because as he said: “at that time my science education, going out and getting drunk took up most of my time and my money, I sold my instruments” A couple of years later, when he was graduated and working his day job, he played with some synths at a friend’s house. He started to get into the groove again and decided to buy some new music equipment. He made songs and put them on the internet (mp3.com) for everybody to hear. The response was overwhelming and after a year he was making money off it. With 2,5 million listens to his music was getting world wide known and he started to get offers for different releases. He released his music on several compilation CDs , two educational NASA DVDs, vinyl on DZOS Records, and more. This category needs an editor
