Duritz, Crumbling Down: 'Raining in Baltimore'

Constantly enjoying widespread praise for their timeless coffeehouse ballads and ability to light up their own sober rhythm and blues, The Counting Crows truly outdo themselves with the release of 'Raining in Baltimore' on their 1993 album, "August and Everything After".

When it comes to keeping honesty within the transcending lyrics and surrealistic beauty of truly artistic songwriting, vocalist Adam Duritz is an undeniable aficionado. With an uncanny ability to show the trembling contrast between the glitzy circus sideshow of life and its own more sober, realistic counterpart, he belts out in his trademark trembling voice a string of lyrics which leave the listener no opportunity to wonder if he's holding anything behind the tears in his voice. What comes of it is nothing short of a masterpiece.
