Biography: Jars of Clay
Jars of Clay found it's beginning in 1993 when friends from Greenville College in Illinois, USA, Dan Haseltine and Charlie Lowell began to form the band. When Stephen Mason, Matt Bronleewe, and Scott Savage joined, the band played around campuses. When they won a Gospel Music Association unsigned bands competition and Matt Odmark replaced Matt Bronleewe, the band signed a contract with Brentwood Music's Essential label. The band's first single Flood on the self-entitled album was a hit success which allowed them to become popular on MTV and play support to Sting in his series of concerts. Their self-entitled album was able to reach platinum status. A second album, Much Afraid, was even more successful than the first. Now they have released If I Left the Zoo, which is coupled with The White Elephant sessions, for those who purchased If I Left the Zoo in Christian stores.
