Creation East 2003

Phil Keaggy and Randy Stonehill shared a 50 minute set at Hershey Arena on Friday June 27, 2003. The original festival site, near Mount Union, PA, was unfit for use due to massive rainfall leading up to the event.
Randy started out with "We Were All So Young". I was surprised Phil didn't come out for this one since he sang on Randy's recording of it. That led into Randy discussing the age of his audience and his recent children's project, Uncle Stonehill's Hat. "Toes" was next, followed by a very fun version of "Shut De Do". Phil came out and they both performed "Ain't Got No" and "Who Will Save the Children" complete with plug for Compassion International.

Then Randy turned things over to Phil and he nailed his three show-stoppers, "A Sign Came Through A Window", "Salvation Army Band" and "True Believers". For the encore, Phil brought Randy back out and they performed "Sunday's Child", much to the delight of the audience.

Phil and Randy are both outstanding musicians in their own right, but seeing them together is a pleasure! They are a whoot! The tunes they did together, especially "Ain't Got No" and "Sunday's Child" seemed a bit unrehearsed but it was a great show overall.
