10th Anniversary of Kurt Cobain

Yesterday, on April 5th, was Kurt Cobain's 10th Anniversary. Many fans, all over the world took a few minutes to remember the well-known grunge/alternative musician. Some gathered in his hometown in Seattle, while others stayed home lighting some candles and listening to some of Nirvana's music. It is hard to believe that 10 years has already gone, since Kurt Cobain was alive. Sometimes I feel like it was just yesterday that Kurt brought another one of his guitars down on the stage, while diving into the roaring crowd. He meant a lot to not only the people that knew him, but also his fans all over the world. Yesterday, while I sat in the park strumming on my guitar, smoking a ciggerette, I just thought of one thing...one thing that kept popping in my mind, "It's better to burn out than fade away." Those were said to be one of the last words that Kurt Cobain said. I used to not agree with these words, but today I finally understand what they finally meant. He wanted to be remembered, not for all the hard times and mistakes he made in his life, but for his music. He did not want his music to fade away, he wanted to be there forever, even if he was not their in body. Now I look at this quote and understand, that burning out is something that is better than fading away. Rest In Peace Kurt Cobain!!
