Ozzfest

I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd ever have the chance to see Ozzy Osbourne in the six row. I purchased my first Black Sabbath album in the 1970s and became a metal-head overnight. When Ozzy reunited with Sabbath in the 1990s, it was like reliving a moment from my youth. I stood in awe listening to classics, like Iron Man and War Pigs. All four original members looked as I remembered them, with the exception of Bill Ward whose long hair was a thing of the past. It was surreal and was the best concert that I had ever seen in my entire life, perhaps only rivaled by Metallica's performances in the 1990s, complete with fire and collapsing stage in Philadelphia, PA and intimacy in Camden, New Jersey. Too bad Jason left the group!
I had seen Ozzy perform at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, PA in the 1980s and wasn't impressed. At that show, he was unfit and looked tired. As a keen observer of musicians, I could sense he was burned out at that time. Fortunately, as time passed he cleaned up his own act. I attended three Ozzfest shows in Camden, New Jersey, including two with Black Sabbath, the last Ozzfest was in 2001.
