Pivotal Alliance Rates Album 5 out of 5

5/5 Sanctity is fairly new to the scene. At least to the metal scene outside of their stomping ground of Asheville, North Carolina. They have been around since about 2000 and have just issued their album debut Road to Bloodshed and by this time next year, mark my words, these guys will be a household name, at least within the metal genre. Still, these guys are just melodic enough to draw attention outside of the thrash metal scene and bust the doors wide open. Sanctity has already gotten the seal of approval from the old school and the new school. Case in point, Dave Mustaine personally picked them to take part in the second annual Gigantour, so some fans have been exposed to Sanctity’s music. Second, Trivium frontman Matt Heafy was instrumental in Sanctity getting signed to Roadrunner Records and helped enlist Trivium’s producer Jason Suecof to sit behind the board on Road to Bloodshed. Clearly Sanctity’s influence lies in years of exposure to thrash metal titans such as Megadeth, "classic" Metallica, Slayer, and Testament, as is evidenced by the bay area thrash sound that is heard throughout this dynamic New Wave of American Thrash Metal album. Road to Bloodshed is just as timeless as such classics as Master of Puppets, Rust in Peace, and The Legacy. Yes it’s that damn good. Support Sanctity, this next generation of melodic thrash metal, not because it’s new but because it exceeds the quality and standards of the average contemporary band out there right now.
