Biography: "Artist" Profiles: Presea
With the brain-drain kicking into high gear in Canada and all of our best and our brightest flocking to the United States with arms wide open, there exists another sort...quirky, sweet and strangely beautiful. Presea was just a quiet lass, minding her own business, when the news came down: she was to move from her beautiful homeland of Canada down to that other country, against her will.The move heard 'round the world devastated the minds and hearts of millions of poor Ontario boys, who were then forced to find their love through sniffing gasoline cans and coveting porn. The artist formerly known as "Bacon" had vanished from her flocks of fans forever and took a long and disturbing trip South.
Now based in Texas, presea still finds quiet solitude in the things she brought with her: a snowball, made from real Canadian snow and carefully preserved in her freezer for those homesick days; pictures of crazybanjo, tacked to her walls, her desk and her ceiling; a battered copy of Our Lady Peace's "Clumsy" album to chase away the donkeys; and finally, a three-year-old timbit (the chocolate one), poetic as it sits quietly with one bite out of it.
"Erm, eck...I just wanted my azz to have a nice home, and unfortunately that ended up being in Texas (where I am hardly proud or free). Instead, woe is me as I pray every day that my azz will make a triumphant return to the place of it's wildest dreams....Canada, the true North strong, and free.
