50 First Dates Soundtrack

Hey, this is one of my favorite CDs but I was upset the 'Somewhere over the rainbow' song was not on it. So I decide to go and find it for everyone like me that likes it. The artist name is Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (IZ) and it is available on his CD "Facing Future or the 'Met Joe Black' soundtrack. Hope this makes it better for the music lovers out there.

Help is here

In answer to a couple of the song queries... The song 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' that is played at the end of the movie is sung by the late Israel Ka'ano'i Kamakawiwo'ole (1959-1997)aka Bruddha Iz. The song is not on the soundtrack due to exclusive-use arrangement. The "Rainbow" version is originaly part of an Over The Rainbow - What A Wonderful World combo that is outstanding. The other song in question is called AMBER and it was in fact recorded by 311, but not part of the soundtrack due to licensing aggreements. Great tune - Overall the movie was pretty good. I don't think it was Sandler's best; some of his schtick is getting old. The chemistry between Barrymore and Sandler makes the movie as does some of the comic relief of Rob S. As always, the music was excellent.

I would give it a million stars!

This is the best soundtrack! I really like how they remade the songs into reggae songs. They are good for relaxing or dancing to. I was disappointed that the Beach Boys song wasn't on there, but the cd is really worth buying!

Something's missing...

I really liked this movie, and after getting the soundtrack, I was somewhat disappointed. Like almost everyone before me mentioned, it's missing some of the most important songs in the movie, such as Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (you can get it on IZ's CD Facing Future) and also Wouldn't It Be Nice by the Beach Boys. After all, both Henry and Lucy sang the latter song in the movie, so why not include it on the soundtrack? Great CD if you overlook the two missing songs, and is highly recommended!

Too much missing.

These were important songs. Flaming Lips is played when they crash. That is important. Some of the songs on the cd I don't remember in the movie. They are there, I had to rewatch it (I didn't mind). But still, If you do a soundtrack you should include all songs, and none hidden.

Where are the other songs?!?!?

I have to agree with Patrick....while the songs are mostly good, I am very VERY upset that some songs were left out of the soundtrack. "Wouldn't It Be Nice" was one of the themes to the whole movie. Also, the song "Amber" by 311 is really good, and was neglected in the soundtrack. I am extremely upset about this, since I bought the soundtrack expecting these songs to be on there. I mean, honestly...how can they not have "Wouldn't It Be Nice" on there? Its ridiculous...especially when they put songs that were very small or nonexistent on it. I am not happy with this soundtrack at all!!
