Released shortly before the acclaimed Mellon Collie double CD, Pisces Iscariot is a collection of rave and previously unreleased material. Though originally planned to quiet a demanding fan base, this album was seen by reviewers as an "evolution of the band".

All three formats of this album have different cover images. The one shown below is for the US compact disk release. "Landslide" is a Fleetwood Mac song, and "Girl Named Sandoz" is an Animals cover. The 12" vinyl LP also included a 7" LP containing "Not Worth Asking" and "Honeyspider II" both contained on earlier cassettes and demos and remastered for this special release.
