If you are using both our content and category structure, you require the following statement on each page using our content/category structure:
<p><table border="0" bgcolor="#18165c" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td> <table width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr align="center"> <td><font face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2" color="#FFFFFF">Help build the largest human-contributed music project online</font></td></tr> <tr bgcolor="#CCCCCC" align="center"> <td><font face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2"> <a href="http://musicmoz.org/cgi-bin/add.cgi?where=$cat">Submit Information</a> - <a href="http://musicmoz.org/about.html"><b>Open Music Project</b></a> - <a href="http://musicmoz.org/cgi-bin/apply.cgi?where=$cat">Become an Editor</a> </font> </td></tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table>
($cat should be expanded to be the path to the category containing the data being displayed, e.g. "Bands_and_Artists/D")
|
Since this makes it impossible to include a link to the application forms/submit information forms, the following form of the attribution statement is permissible if you use the data in this way:
<p><table border="0" bgcolor="#18165c" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td> <table width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr align="center"> <td><font face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2" color="#FFFFFF">Help build the largest human-contributed music project online</font></td></tr> <tr bgcolor="#CCCCCC" align="center"> <td><font face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2"> <a href="http://musicmoz.org/add.html">Submit Information</a> - <a href="http://musicmoz.org/about.html"><b>Open Music Project</b></a> - <a href="http://musicmoz.org/">Become an Editor</a> </font> </td></tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table>
|
Categories with the dmozattrib
attribute set to 1
contain, or are derived from, Open Directory Project data.
Use of such categories is therefore dependent on accepting the Open Directory Project Data License Agreement as well as ours.
As part of that agreement, you are required to include the Open Directory Project attribution statement, found at http://dmoz.org/become_an_editor/ as well as our own.
You are free to simply include both attribution statements, but since this could be considered unwieldy, and may not meet clause 2c of the Open Directory Project license agreement, the Open Music Project is happy for you to use the following attribution statement:
<p><table border="0" bgcolor="#336600" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td> <table width="100%" cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0"> <tr align="center"> <td><font face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2" color="#FFFFFF">Help build the largest human-edited directory on the web.</font></td></tr> <tr bgcolor="#CCCCCC" align="center"> <td><font face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2"> <a href="http://dmoz.org/add.html">Submit a Site</a> - <a href="http://dmoz.org/about.html"><b>Open Directory Project</b></a> - <a href="http://dmoz.org/">Become an Editor</a> </font> </td></tr> <tr align="center"> <td bgcolor="#18165c"><font color="#FFFFFF" face="sans-serif, Arial, Helvetica" size="2"> Modified by the <a href="http://musicmoz.org/"><font color="#FFFFFF">Open Music Project</></a></font></td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> </table>
|
Since the Open Directory Project license requires:
"If you are using or distributing the Open Directory in modified form (i.e., with additions or deletions), you must include a statement indicating you have made modifications to it. Such statement should be placed with the attribution notices required"
such an attribution statement will be acceptable to them too.
You are permitted to alter the colours of the MusicMoz attribution statements, or to use CSS instead of the colour attributes included in them, providing the overall style is not compromised, and all text and links remain clearly visible.
We cannot extend this to the Open Directory Project attribution, since this is not our requirement.
