Biography: All For Nothing Biography

All For Nothing, a band that doesn't fit into just one category. They're influenced by both hardcore and punkrock. Their debut album "Start at Zero" has just been released. It contains eight up-tempo punkrock songs which are alternated by finger breaking hardcore riffs and drenched in melody and sarcasm. This energetic album is available now and will make every stereo explode! All For Nothing is ready to hit the road and play as many shows as possible!

It all began in the fall of 2001, when Ernst and Richard were left behind after their former band Fitch had broken up. They got together the other day and decided to form a new band with two close friends. Their objective was to compose and play new songs and to have a lot of fun doing that.

Ernst, Normen, Richard and Marcel grew up together in the suburbs of Rotterdam, coming from different backgrounds, they try combine all their influences to write solid compositions.

Early 2002 they started jamming and practicing on a weekly basis. After several months, Richard decided to leave the band. The other three members continued and started a search for a worthy replacement. They met Leon, who had played drums for a skacore band called CPR. They agreed that Leon was what they were looking for, he was suitable for the job.

With a new musical approach they continued writing material, but after a few months Leon - like Richard did before - left the band because he couldn't mix in. The search for a drummer continued.

It wasn't until early 2003, when fortune struck a nerve; Richard was willing to return and pickup where they'd left. Until today the line-up is solid, and things seem to have worked out just fine.

In the fall of 2003 All For Nothing set course for the recording of their long awaited debut album, they've spend a lot of time working out the songs into detail. In the meanwhile their first gig came along, an abandoned train shed was the first musical outing for this four piece.

Their debut album "Start At Zero", was produced and recorded by Patrick DeLabie at studio 195, winter 2003/2004. The album was released by AFN Records. The distribution was done by Tocado Records, Sonic Rendezvous and Interpunk.com.

Since then All For Nothing has played quite a few shows, for instance at venues like: Nighttown, de Piek, Boogje1, de Gooth, Apollo, de Goeroe, Poortgebouw etc.. They now have two tours planned, through The Netherlands and Germany.

This active band is not even thinking of stopping any time soon and they will make many more venues tremble!
