Despite the title this was the Bee Gees' third release, preceded by their two Australian titles.

The brothers originally wrote "To Love Somebody" for Otis Redding but when Redding died before recording it, they recorded it themselves.

This was the first Bee Gees release to make both the Top Ten in the U.S. and the U.K. charts.
