January 8th, 1935: Elvis is born.
8th January 1935, Elvis is born at 4:35am at Tupelo, Mississippi. He is the second born child. His brother Jesse Garon is still born.
January 9th, 1935: Jesse Garon buried.
Jesse Garon is buried in an unmarked grave in Priceville cemetery.
November 17th, 1937: Vernon sent to prison.
Vernon Presley is jailed for forgery and scented to 3 years imprisonment at Parchman Farm State Penitentiary
October 3rd, 1945: Elvis enters talent show.
Elvis enters the Mississippi Alabama Fair and Dairy Show. this si Elvis' first public appearance. He sings Old Shep and wins second place.
September 12th, 1948: Presley's move.
Vernon, Gladys and Elvis Presley pack up their possessions and move from Tupelo, Mississippi to Memphis, Tennessee.
April 3rd, 1953: Elvis enters talent show.
Elvis enters the Humes High Band Annual Minstrel Show. He sings Till I Waltz Again With You. He wins the right to an encore song he sings, Keep Them Cold Icy Fingers.
June 3rd, 1953: Elvis leaves school.
Elvis graduates Humes High, majoring in Shop, History and English.
July 18th, 1953: First record.
Elvis makes an acetate of My Happiness and That's When Your Heartaches Begins. Marion Kiesker records part of that recording and takes down the young singers name and phone number, she believes the young man is the singer that Sam Phillips has been looking for.
January 1st, 1954: Elvis makes first record.
Elvis makes another acetate single at Sun studios the tracks are I'll Never Stand In Your Way and It Wouldn't Be The Same (Without You).
May 15th, 1954: Tryouts
Elvis goes to the Hi Hat on South Third Street in Memphis for an audition. Elvis went to there with then girlfriend Dixie Locke and sang two songs with the band but didn't get the job. Elvis later revealed that Bond told him to stick with driving a truck, because he would "never make it as a singer."
June 26th, 1954: Sam calls Elvis.
Sam Phillips calls Elvis to Sun studios to record Rag Mop and Without You. No known recordings exist of this event.
July 5th, 1954: That's All Right
During a break in a unsuccessful recording session a despondant Elvis starts fooling around on the song That's all Right Mama. Sam Phillips tells him that's what he's been looking for. That night they record Elvis' first single release on Sun reords.
July 10th, 1954: Elvis' s single played.
10th July 1954 DJ Dewey Phillips plays That's All Right Mama and Blue Moon of Kentuck on his Red, Hot and Blue radio show.
July 12th, 1954: First manager.
Elvis signs a managers contract with his guitar player Scotty Moore. Very soon Scotty discovers that he can not manage Elvis' career.
July 19th, 1954: First release.
Sun records release That's All Right b/w Blue Moon of Kentucky as Elvis' first single.
July 30th, 1954: Star Billing
Elvis makes his first billed appearance on the Slim Whitman Show at the Overton Park Shell in Memphis. He is the third act.
August, 1954: Touring.
Elvis and his band tour Texas.
August, 1954: "That's All Right (Mama) / Blue Moon of Kentucky" Released
More Information...September 4th, 1954: Opry.
Elvis is booked on the Grand Old Opry. His apperance did not go well. Elvis' singing style did not fit the tradional country music format of the Opry.
October, 1954: "Good Rockin'Tonight / I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine" Released
More Information...October 16th, 1954: Hayride.
Elvis makes his first apperance on the Louisiana Hayride. His style of singing is more accepted there. The gig though does not pay enough for Elvis and his band to return home to Memphis, so they stay in Texas doing small gigs until they have enough money to get home.
October 23rd, 1954: Billboard.
Elvis single Blue Moon of Kentucky reaches number 6 in Nashville and number 3 in New Orleans. This is the first time that Elvis' singles have charted outside of Memphis.
October 25th, 1954: Lost recordings.
Elvis records Give Me More, More, More Of Your Kisses, Blue Guitar, That's What You Gotta Watch, Always Late With Your Kisses and Uncle Pen at KWKH Studios. There are no known recordings saved from this session. In Elvis first songbook though Blue Guitar and Always Late With Your Kisses are lsited as hit songs by Elvis.
November 6th, 1954: Hayride.
Elvis signs a year long contract with the Louisiana Hayride.
November 26th, 1954: Money Home
Elvis performs at The Paladium, Houston, TX. This day he sends a telegram to his father: "Hi babies here's the money to pay the bills. Dont tell no one how much I sent I will send more next week. There is a card in the mail. Love, Elvis."
December 8th, 1954: Sessions.
Elvis records Oakie Boogie, Uncle Penn and Tomorrow Night at Sun Records.
December 20th, 1954: Sessions
Elvis records Milkcow Blues Boogie, You're A Heartbreaker, My Baby's Gone and I'm Left You're Right She's Gone at Sun records.
January 1st, 1955: New Manager.
Elvis at Scotty urging signs over managerial control to Bob Neal.
January 8th, 1955: Next single.
Sun releases Milkcow Blues Boogie b/w You're a Heartbreaker as Elvis' next release.
March 5th, 1955: First TV Appearance
A broadcast of Elvis' appearacne on the Louisiana Hayride is shown by local television.
August 13th, 1955: Concert riots.
Elvis' concerts were described as "A Riot" by Billboard Magazine. Elvis is now being mobed by fans.

Elvis first day as a soldier and he gets his famous G.I haircut. While getting hsi haircut he says; "Hair today, gone tomorrow."
